Is it possible to return a newly, just opened game back to a target store?

I just bought NCAA Football 09 for Xbox 360, but all my friends have it for PS3. So I want to get a PS3 and and return my Xbox game for a PS3 version of the same game.I just opened the game and played for an hour or so when I found out all my friends got the game for PS3. I was just wondering if Target would let me bring back the game for full credit or at all?

You’ll probably only be able to exchange it for another copy of the same game if it’s been opened (in cases of a defective disc). Stores don’t usually give refunds or credit for games that have been opened because of the possibility of people buying games, copying them and then returning them. So you probably won’t be able to do what you’re asking. Of course the store itself will give you a difinitive answer.

no they dont..i have tried this sooooooooo many times…once its open, its yours…your best bet is to go to gamestop and trade it in…and get the game for ps3

you wont get the same amount back tho, just because it is used.

If you can find a shrinkwrap machine then you can just re-package it and return it. Or you could make up a story about how it doesn’t work and as long as you have the receipt they should take it back. Target and Walmart are notorious for taking back anything in almost any condition. For example, I bought a $150 air conditioner from Walmart, used it for a month, put it back into the box and returned it… no problems whatsoever. I don’t think they’ll make much fuss over it. In the end, the customer is always right and if you make a big enough stink they might take it back. If all else fails just sell it on eBay.

Most chain stores are decent about returns because they wont lose money. Just exchange your 360 version for the same game. Tell them that it freezes up in the middle of the game. They will be more than happy to exchange the game for you since its the same title. Then take your original reciept with the new unopened game back (either to a different target store or a few days later) and get the ps3 version.
